OptiMed Employees Kick of Charity Fundraisers for September

OptiMed employees have kicked off fundraisers throughout September that support child abuse prevention efforts, as well as help Texas residents displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

Employees are participating in a month-long effort to raise donations for the KalamazooKCAN Logo Vector 2-Color County Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Council (KCAN). Founded in 1976, KCAN is a non-profit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect throughout Kalamazoo County.

OptiMed employees are raising donations for KCAN through a number of activities, including a bake sale, can drive, casual Fridays, a pie-throwing contest, food competitions and more. All donations raised will remain in the community and support KCAN’s initiatives to prevent child abuse.

The month will conclude with employees taking part in KCAN’s annual “Super Hero 5K Walk/Run” on Saturday, September 30th at Celery Flats, 7335 Garden Lane, in Portage.

Secondly, to help Texas residents displaced by Hurricane Harvey, OptiMed employees are also collecting donations for Texas Diaper Bank. Employees are collecting any brand Logo-Pinor size of diaper, including baby diapers, pull-ups, adult diapers, formula and baby wipes. All donations will go toward disaster relief in Texas.

OptiMed employees are inviting the public to help support these worthy causes. For more information about donating to KCAN, visit http://www.kalamazoocan.com. For information about supporting Texas Diaper Bank, visit http://www.texasdiaperbank.com.

The public is also welcome to drop off donations at OptiMed’s headquarters, 6480 Technology Avenue, Kalamazoo.
